Cranleigh RFC Social Media Boycott

CLUB

Cranleigh RFC will be supporting football’s social media boycott this weekend to highlight discriminatory abuse received online.

The Football Association, as well as clubs, league bodies and other organisations connected to football are turning off their social media accounts from 3pm on Friday, April 30 to 11:59pm on Monday, May 3.

The campaign is also supported by England Rugby, Premiership Rugby, the Allianz Premier 15s, the Greene King IPA Championship, GB7s and the Rugby Players’ Association.

It is intended to emphasise that social media companies must do more to eradicate online hate, while highlighting the importance of educating people in the ongoing fight against discrimination.

Everyone at Cranleigh RFC is in support of this message and therefore we will also be turning off our social media channels.

We will continue to support all members of our Cranleigh RFC Family against online abuse.

Respect is a core value of rugby and we hope you all stand with us as we fight against bullying.

Please be aware that you will still receive the Club’s newsletter during the period of the social media boycott.
