Cranes Community Lockdown Challenge

CLUB

This is a club wide challenge, open to all age groups across the club, kicking off at midnight tonight and running right through the lockdown period until Boris lets us out again!

The challenge is broken up into 4 different parts, carefully devised to offer something for everyone, promoting as much participation across all ages as possible.
Each person can score points for their team/age groups by simply participating in one or all of the mini challenges, with more points on offer the more involved they get.
So without further waffle, here are the mini challenges and how you score points:

Mini Challenge 1 – Workout of the Week
Sam Lawrence, our resident strength & conditioning guru, will be posting a workout of the week every Saturday. These workouts will be appropriate for every age group, including vets, and will be sufficiently challenging/achievable to be completed a few times a week.

So here’s how you score the points for your team:
For each workout completed – 5pts
Participation bonus – 5pts

For example, if you complete the workout twice in the week, you will earn 10pts for the 2 workouts completed and an additional 5pts for simply participating. Get the idea?
(In order to discourage embellishing how many workouts are actually completed, each one should be filmed and time lapsed in order to register the points for your team)

Mini Challenge 2 – The Krazy Kilometer Challenge
Quite simply, travel as many kilometers in a week as you can, either walking, running or cycling, to earn points for your team.
For every Km walked – 6pts
For every Km run – 3pts
For every Km cycled – 1pt
Participation Bonus – 5pts
All you need to do to register your points is screenshot your walk/run/cycle summary having used an app like Strava to track it.
Bonus points will be on offer each week for the highest individual distance either walked, run or cycled by any member of the club participating.

Mini Challenge 3 – The Silly Selfie Challenge
Simply take a funny, rugby related selfie and post it on your team WhatsApp group.
The best selfie from each age group will compete against all the other selfies from all the other age groups across the club, with the weekly winner awarded 100pts for their team.
Like all the other challenges, there will be 5pts given to every person who posts a selfie as a participation bonus.

Mini Challenge 4 – The Silky Skills Challenge
Like the workout of the week, Jonny Burden, our senior attack coach, will be posting a rugby skills challenge to keep our hands on the ball over the lockdown period.
Points scoring will vary dependent on the individual challenge, however by simply attempting the challenge and posting a video on your WhatsApp group, each person who does so will receive the 5pt participation bonus.

So there you have it folks, The Cranes Community Lockdown Challenge.
Hopefully as many club members as possible will get behind this initiative and help our Cranes Community get through this lockdown and have some fun in the process.

Let’s get behind this great initiative and let’s keep engaged with our fellow team mates and your rugby family at Cranleigh RFC.
