Our Condolences – Matthew Wheeler

Matthew Wheeler December 9^th, 1966 – February 6^th, 2024

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the sudden and unexpected death of my brother, Matthew Wheeler, on Tuesday, 6^th February 2024.

As a family, our immediate thoughts are with Matthew’s wife, Cathy and their children, Maddie, Eliza and Tom.

Matt played rugby for Cranleigh RFC 1^st XV for many years (c.1985-1995). He loved his rugby, CRFC and remained a Vice President until his last days.

Matt was a much-loved son, husband, father, uncle, brother and friend. He was hugely popular and had a great circle of friends who will miss him dearly. For my mother, my sisters and I, well… he is and always will be, our absolute hero.

The family will be having a private ceremony, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Matt’s life, with details to follow. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the RNLI, in lieu of flowers, thank you.
