The Cranleigh RFC VP’s 50/50 Club Autumn 2024 campaign aims to raise funds for a bursary fund for the M&Y section.
As a former coach I saw lots of instances where we wanted to bring in rugby-curious youngsters who, for whatever reason, were wary or not in a position to commit to a point of buying boots, kit or a full membership. It was often left to the generosity of individual coaches to get past this block and that doesn’t seem right. Some of these players have proved to be exciting prospects and their loyalty to the club further deepened.
For the “senior wing” of the club to provide a fund that can offer help to the section to get as many players involved with the club as possible seems entirely appropriate.
We are looking for 50 VP’s to donate £50 each to create this fund.
